He traveled to America with the Beatles in 1964 and decided to stay. His photographs appear frequently in magazines such as Life, Vanity Fair, G.Q., ESPN, The New Yorker, and other publications. Harry Benson has twice been named "Magazine Photographer of the Year" by the National Press Photographers Association, twice received the Leica Medal of Excellence, has won the Overseas Press Club Madeline Dane Ross Award, and was given the 1996 PMDA Professional Photographer Award. His work is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC. Harry Benson now lives in New York with his wife Gigi and their two children, Wendy and Tessa.
