His first photographs feature the British greats: Kenny Ball, Chris Barber, and George Melly. Having witnessed the growth of post-war British Jazz and the birth of rock 'n' roll, David Redfern was inspired to capture the new generation of Jazz-influenced musicians: the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan. Jazz Times' "Special Collector's Edition" ranked David Redfern among the world's six most highly acclaimed photographers. His images of Louis Armstrong, Thelonious Monk, and Coleman Hawkins were selected to honor the history of Jazz on U.S. postage stamps. The photographs from The Unclosed Eye present an engaging visual history of music that spans the last three decades. Book Available: The Unclosed Eye, Hardcover, $49.95 New Gallery Acquisitions: W.
