Laure Albin-Guillot was born in 1879 in Paris and resided there until her death in 1962.
Known for:
Photographing microscopic specimens, plant cells, and animal organisms with her husband, who was a scientific researcher. Also known for her portraiture, nudes (male and female), landscapes and commercial work. Albin-Guillot's photographs are marked by the esthetics of Pictorialism but with the compositional strategies of Modernism.

Did you know ... ? In 1922, Albin-Guillot received the gold medal award in a contest sponsored by
La Revue française de Photographie. Albin-Guillot had the first one-person exhibition with 40 prints in Paris in 1925.
Her work was included in the first independent Salon of Photography in Paris, held at the Theatre de Champs-Elysees in June of 1928.
In 1935, she became the president of the French Société des Artistes Photographes.
Micrographie Décorative was created as a tribute to Laure's husband after his death.
