On October 19, 1997 at A Gallery for Fine Photography, photographer Sandra Russell Clark will sign advance copies of her newly released book:
ELYSIUMÑA Gathering of Souls: New Orleans Cemeteries
Photographs by Sandra Russell Clark, foreword by Andrei Codrescu, introduction by 
Patricia Brady. Published by Louisiana State University Press, Baton Rouge, LA.

"Sandra Russell Clark's ethereal photographs, in luminous black and white, explore the world behind the wrought iron gates that enclose our monuments to those who have come and gone before us. Clark takes the viewer through the unique above ground cemeteries of New Orleans where stone angels reside as silent sentinels over tombs of departed loved ones."  The book includes passages from Tennessee Williams, William Faulkner, and Truman Capote. 

Ms. Clark has been published in Vogue, Mirabella, Traveler and American Artist. 
Her photographs can be found in private, corporate and museum collections, including the 
Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, the New Orleans Museum of Art, Memphis Brooks Museum, and the Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton, New York. 

In addition to showing her photographs at A Gallery for Fine Photography, Ms. Clark will have a comprehensive exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center, opening November 1st.
